14 Jan Michelle Walker Named 2014 Rising Star by Super Lawyers
Michelle M. Walker of the Law Office of James C White has been selected to the 2014 Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers in the area of Bankruptcy law. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Walker received her J.D. with honors in 2010 from the UNC School of Law, where she was awarded the school’s highest merit scholarship as a Chancellors’ Scholar. While attending law school, she served as an Article and Note Editor of the First Amendment Law Review and received a Gressman-Pollitt Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy as Best Appellee.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and Spanish from the University of Georgia in Athens in 2007, where she graduated as a First Honor Graduate by maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and was inducted as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society for academic excellence.
In 2012, Walker was appointed to the Orange County Animal Services Advisory Board by the county’s Board of Commissioners, and in 2014 she was elected board chair.
