Alan Parry Speaks at Insurance Law Seminar

On Friday, January 29, Alan Parry was one of several featured speakers at the NC Advocates for Justice seminar entitled “What Every Lawyer Should Know About Insurance: Sources of Coverage & Extra-Contractual Liability.”

Alan’s presentation was entitled “An Overview of Commercial Liability Insurance,” and covered different types of commercial liability policies, coverage issues that frequently arise under such policies and litigation strategies relating to insurance coverage.  The presentation focused in particular on commercial general liability policies, directors and officers (D&O) liability policies, errors and omissions (E&O) policies and excess and umbrella coverage.

A significant part of Alan’s practice involves advising both individual and business policyholders regarding their rights and obligations under a variety of insurance policies and representing those policyholders, where necessary, in suits against insurance companies for improperly denying coverage, including bad faith claims.

The North Carolina Advocates for Justice is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association dedicated to protecting people’s rights through professional and community legal education, championing individual rights and protecting the safety of North Carolina’s families — in the workplace, in the home and in the environment. Alan is an active member of NCAJ, which has approximately 4,000 members statewide, and was the former chair of NCAJ’s Commercial Litigation Section.
