Insurance Article by Alan Parry Appears in NCBA Publication

Alan Parry wrote an article entitled “An Overview of Commercial Liability Insurance,” which was published in the February 2017 edition of The Litigator, the official publication of the Litigation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. The article addresses and explains different types of commercial liability policies, including commercial general liability policies, directors and officers (D&O) liability policies, errors and omissions (E&O) policies and excess and umbrella coverage. A second part of the article, to follow in a later edition, will further explore coverage issues that frequently arise under such policies and litigation strategies relating to insurance coverage.

The Litigation Section is one of the largest sections of the NCBA. Its membership includes lawyers statewide who focus a substantial portion of their practice on civil litigation, including both plaintiff and defense attorneys. Alan has long been an active member of the Litigation Section, and currently serves as Treasurer on the Litigation Section Council. A significant part of Alan’s practice involves advising both individual and business policyholders regarding their rights and obligations under a variety of insurance policies and representing those policyholders, where necessary, in suits against insurance companies for improperly denying coverage, including bad faith claims.
